The Regions Party faction considers it unacceptable to invite Prime Minister Mykola Azarov to the Verkhovna Rada only because the opposition wishes it.
“When he [Arseniy Yatseniuk] comes to the parliament’s rostrum and
says things that are clearly untrue and then demands that a senior
official be invited to parliament, it looks like some kind of childish
game,” the leader of the Regions Party faction in parliament, Oleksandr
Yefremov, said at a briefing in parliament on Thursday, Sept. 6.
“But we are not planning to disturb [Azarov] on every such occasion,
and invite him to parliament just because Yatseniuk said so,” Yefremov
said.
Yatseniuk earlier read out a statement by the opposition from the
parliamentary rostrum, demanding that Azarov deliver a report in
parliament on the situation on the financial market and in connection
with the upcoming parliamentary elections.
