The Ukrainian National Guard's volunteer battalion Donbas remains in Mariupol and is going to return to the frontline at Shyrokyne, its former commander Semen Semenchenko said on April 1.

Earlier, media reports said Donbas was going to be withdrawn from the frontline.

“The Donbas volunteers remain in Mariupol. Taking notice of the public opinion of Mariupol, the command of the National Guard of Ukraine has put the Donbas special battalion … in charge of Sector M. The volunteers are going to return to the frontline at Shyrokyne,” Semenchenko, who today is a member of parliament, said on Facebook.
