A total of 309 people, among them 15 children, have been evacuated from Donetsk and Luhansk regions in the past 24 hours, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine said.

Rescuers moved 188 people, including eight children, from Debaltseve and Svitlodarsk to Sloviansk and Artemivsk in Donetsk region on Feb. 3. Yet the heavy shelling of buses carrying evacuees prevented them from reaching Avdiyivka.

The State Emergency Service reported the evacuation of three children and 32 adults from Svitlodarsk and five children and 148 adults from Debaltseve. The evacuees were taken to Artemivsk (55 persons) and Sloviansk (133). They will be offered resettlement in other towns in Donetsk region and transported there for free.

In total, rescuers have evacuated 2,577 people, including 650 children and 60 people with limited mobility, from Avdiyivka, Debaltseve and Svitlodarsk since Jan. 28, the service reported.

In addition, 121 people, including seven children, were evacuated from towns of Luhansk region on Feb. 3.
