KHARKIV - The trial of Slovyansk's former mayor Nelya Shtepa on charges of colluding with pro-Russian separatists - despite the fact that she says they held her hostage - has alarmed rights groups, who say her case is just one of many in which the right to a fair trial is taking a backseat to Kyiv's focus on putting down the rebellion in the east.
