Associated Press: Easing of Ukraine tensions helps drive stocks up

NEW YORK - U.S. stocks rose on Aug. 11 as positive corporate news provided some balance after weeks of geopolitical upheaval in the Middle East and elsewhere. At the same time, tensions in the Ukraine appeared to ease and subdued Chinese inflation sent stock markets higher from Europe to Asia.
