A bus passenger who was injured in an attack in the settlement of Shakhty Abakumova has died in a Donetsk hospital, the Donetsk City Council has reported on its Web site.

Other people were injured in the attack, the report says.

“One of the shells exploded near a road on Kirov Street. The
fragments damaged a passing bus. Four passengers sustained injuries.
Unfortunately, one of the passengers died in hospital,” the report says.

A shell hit a transformer sub-station in an attack in the city’s
Kirovsky district on Friday, Aug. 1. As a result, one-third of the district was
left without power, and the Lidiyivka and Skochynskoho mines are
experiencing problems.

According to earlier reports, a shell exploded in the area of the settlement of Shakhty Abakumova on Friday morning.

“The morning of Aug. 1 began with explosions in the area of the
settlement of Shakhty Abakumova. A shell exploded near a bus, hurting
several people. The driver of the bus took them to a hospital. The
details of the accident are now being determined,” the press service for
the Donetsk City Council reported.
