The militia in Sloviansk styling itself "Sloviansk Self-Defense" has swapped three captive Alfa servicemen for the "people's governor" of Donetsk region, Pavlo Gubarev, and deputy militia leader Ihor Perepechayenko, a local newspaper said. The exchange took place at a checkpoint in the vicinity of a bridge across the Kazenny Torets River in Sloviansk, the Slavhorod newspaper said.

It named the Alfa servicemen as Maj. Serhiy Potemsky, Capt. Yevhen Varynsky, and Lt. Col. Rostyslav Kiyashko.

Militia spokeswoman Stella Khorosheva said Gubarev was currently traveling to Donetsk.
