The Czech Republic has condemned Russia's actions with respect to Ukraine and urged Russia to stop steps aimed at the further destabilization of the situation in east Ukraine, the press service of the Czech Foreign Ministry has reported.

“The Czech Republic calls on the Russian Federation to cease activities that further destabilize the situation in eastern Ukraine, particularly the supplies of heavy weapons and the shelling of the Ukrainian troops,” reads a statement posted on the ministry’s Web site.

The ministry also condemned the so-called “parade of Ukrainian prisoners of war,” which members of illegal armed groups held in Donetsk on Ukraine’s Independence Day and the murder of Lithuania’s Honorary Consul Mykola Zelenec in Luhansk.

“Appropriate control of the Russia-Ukraine border and the international monitoring of its full length is an essential precondition for ending the violence in eastern Ukraine,” the ministry said.
