You're reading: Defense ministry confirms two servicemen wounded in attacks at one of checkpoints near Sloviansk

Two Ukrainian military men were wounded in mortar attack at a checkpoint of the counterterrorist operation forces not far from Sloviansk (Donetsk region) in the afternoon on Friday, June 27, according to a posting on the Web site of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

“On June 27, in the afternoon, a mortar attack at one of the checkpoints of the counterterrorist operation forces near Sloviansk was registered. It lasted for around two hours. Two military men were wounded, one with light wound and another with moderate wound,” reads the report.

Another mortar attack was made at another checkpoint near Sloviansk. It lasted for around 30 minutes.

“No victims are among Ukrainian military men,” the ministry said.

The base point of the counterterrorist operation forces near the village of Tarany (Donetsk region) was also under mortar fire, the ministry added.
