Moscow/Rostov-on-Don - Alexander Proselkov, deputy foreign minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, was shot and killed while accompanying a motorcade carrying humanitarian cargo.

“Apparently, it was a well-planned special operation. For some
reason, the vehicle carrying Alexander Proselkov got behind the
motorcade. A car approached it and unknown individuals fired five shots
in his back,” Valery Korovin, a member of the Russian Public Chamber,
told Interfax on Friday, Aug. 1.

Korovin said Proselkov was killed near the town of Krasny Luch,
Luhansk region, in the morning of July 31. The other passengers of the
car were not hurt.

Before the military action in eastern Ukraine, Proselkov headed the
Eurasian Young People’s Union of the Southern Federal District.

The Eurasian Young People’s Union is a young people’s political
organization. It was created as a youth structure of the international
Eurasian Movement led by philosopher Alexander Dugin in 2005.
