The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) is resuming rail links with Moscow and Kyiv this November, the so-called Novorossiya press center said on Oct. 29.

“Long-distance train services between Donetsk and Kyiv and between Donetsk and Moscow will resume early next month,” DPR transport minister Semyon Kuzmenko said, according to the report.

Currently, railway workers are focusing their efforts on repairing a station in Yasynuvata, the report said. It is from this station that Donetsk trains followed all main routes.

“It has been a long while since Kostiantynivka became a departure point for long-distance passenger trains. Service on habitual routes became impossible as a result of the hostilities which resulted in significant damage to railway infrastructure,” the press center said.
