Brussels -- The EU policy is not directed against Russia, European Council President Donald Tusk has said in a statement published on Jan. 9.

“The EU does not have a policy against Russia. We have a policy that is aimed at ensuring the respect of peace and borders in Europe,” he said.

According to Tusk, “last year an armed conflict [in eastern Ukraine] returned to the European continent.”

“Territorial integrity and sovereignty must remain the indisputable principles upon which the post-war security of Europe is built,” he said.
