Chairman of the Council of Group DF, Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash, has condemned the actions of illegal armed groups that on Sunday, July 27 broke into the territory of Stirol chemical enterprise in Horlivka, Donetsk region, and placed bombs there.

“I absolutely condemn the actions of armed groups which today broke into the territory of Stirol chemical concern in Horlivka, planted bombs, and made demands to Ukrainian authorities. I believe that such actions are criminal and senseless,” reads a report spread by the press service of Firtash.

The businessman said that all large-tonnage production, including the synthesis and processing of ammonia, was stopped at the plant on May 8, 2014 after the worsening of the situation in the region.

“There is no stock of ammonia and other explosive substances at the enterprise. Possible explosions on the territory of the enterprise could destroy workshops, but they will no result in a chemical disaster with serious consequences. At once after receiving information about the planting of bombs, all employees of Stirol Concern were evacuated from the territory of the enterprise,” Firtash said.
