Five Ukrainian servicemen were killed and eight other were wounded in the zone of the counterterrorism operation in eastern Ukraine between 09:00 local time on August 23 and 09:00 local time on August 24, spokesman for the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Lysenko said.
The number of military deaths has climbed to 722, and 2,625 troops have been wounded since the counterterrorism operation started, according to the National Security and Defense Council’s information and analytical center.
