Ukraine's acting Foreign Minister Andriy Deschytsia and Italian Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini discussed circumstances of Italian reporter Andrea Rocchelli's death near Sloviansk by telephone on Sunday.

“The Ukrainian foreign minister assured his Italian counterpart that
the best experts will be involved in the inquiry, while Ukrainian
government agencies will keep the Italian consular services updated
about the investigation,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a
statement.

“Deschytsia and Mogherini said that the situation in Ukraine’s
eastern regions must be de-escalated as envisioned in the Geneva
accords,” it said.

Reports said earlier that foreign journalists came under fire near
Sloviansk.
