You're reading: Horlivka sees gunfire, bridge damage, electric public transport halt

Last night was far from being quiet in Horlivka, Donetsk region. Gunfire was heard in every district and the hostilities continued in the Mayorsk and Dzerzhynsk suburbs, the City Council press service said on Tuesday, July 22.

The gunfire ceased early in the morning. District administrations said the public utility services were working.

Yet the fighting incapacitated a tracking substation and electric public transport came to a halt.

Power supply to 80 substations has been cut off and there is a power
outage in the suburb of Hlyboke, the wholesale market area, 88 blocks
and the lower part of the Peremoha suburb, the public utilities
department said.

In turn, the city economy and investment department said a motor
bridge had been damaged and a number of city bus routes had to be
altered.

Tap water supply has been limited to several hours, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Specialists of the Voda Donbasa Company’s
Horlivka division are examining the canal damage.
