MOSCOW - Despite the positive moves in implementation of the Minsk Agreements, residents of the southeastern Ukraine are still in need of humanitarian aid, especially along the frontline, Dominik Stillhart, the director of operations at the International Committee of the Red Cross has said.

“The Ukrainian operation remains one of the largest. We are quite satisfied with the progress in the implementation of the Minsk Agreements as this progress is really important […], as only the political resolution of the conflict may put an end to the sufferings of civilians. But still, the humanitarian situation remains complicated,” Stillhart said when speaking at the coordination highest-level meeting between the Collective Security Treaty Organization and ICRC.

People residing along the frontline need the humanitarian aid the most, Stillhart said. He also recalled that many people were forced to leave their homes and set off for the “southern Russia and other countries”.
