Kharkiv - A regional military recruitment office came under fire in Kharkiv in the early hours of Monday, Aug. 4 with attackers using automatic rifles and a flame thrower, Dmytro Horbunov, the head of the regional media center of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, has said.

He said the supposedly Russian-made Shmel flame thrower was fired at 2.35 a.m. Besides, there was a burst of automatic gunfire of about five or
six cartridges towards the first floor of the facade.

“None of the staff was hurt as a result. Entrance doors have been
damaged and windows smashed. Several teams of investigators are working
at the scene,” Horbunov told Interfax-Ukraine.

It was reported that an armored-vehicle production facility in Kharkiv came under fire in the early hours of Sunday, Aug. 3.
