Ukraine will raise the issues of heavy arms pullout, humanitarian aid supplies and captives exchange during the upcoming Normandy format talks, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said.

“We have a clear logic as to which issues should be raised in talks with the Russian side which is responsible for Donetsk and Luhansk operations,” Klimkin told journalists at a Cabinet meeting on March 23.

He said the agenda of the talks would include a ceasefire, the verification and monitoring of heavy arms withdrawal, and also whether the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s special monitoring mission has capabilities to observe this process.

The second issue is humanitarian, “first of all humanitarian aid supplies to destitute people, and also an all-for-all captives exchange,” he said.

“These two issues will be of key importance in Paris. The meeting will be held at the level of deputy foreign ministers, which has been confirmed. Ukraine will be represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko,” Klimkin said.
