You're reading: Lavrov: Russia, Finland urge Ukraine conflicting parties to abide by Minsk accords

Russia's and Finland's positions on the situation in eastern Ukraine coincide and both countries insist on the implementation of the agreements reached in Minsk, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“We have exchanged views in sufficient detail on the situation in Ukraine. Our position is as follows: all sides must abide by the Minsk agreements, laid down in the protocol of Sept. 5 and in the memorandum of Sept. 19,” he said at a press conference after talks with his Finnish counterpart Erkki Tuomioja on Oct. 6.
