You're reading: Mariupol authorities promise to restore rail traffic on damaged track within one week

Donetsk – The restoration of a railway bridge damaged due to an explosion is underway in Mariupol, the town council's press service has reported. 

Town authorities said that transport police are guarding the facility 24 hours a day.

The council said that the installation of a temporary track is being completed.

“In the next six or seven days movement on this railway section will be restored,” the press service said.

As reported, at night on December 23 unknown persons blew up a bridge across the Kalchik River, with rail traffic subsequently being halted.
