Members of illegal armed groups continue to try to storm the Donetsk airport and shell the positions of the Ukrainian military on its territory, the press center for the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) has reported.
‘Members of illegal armed groups shelled the roadblocks of security forces guarding a thermal power plant in the town of Schastia, which supplies electricity to Luhansk, whereas in the area of Kasianivka, near Mariupol, they attacked a Ukrainian unit patrol,’ the press center reported on Facebook on Tuesday morning.
According to the report, the largest number of attacks on Ukrainian positions was reported near the town of Debaltseve.
‘One Ukrainian soldier was killed and seven more sustained various injuries as a result of clashes with a subversive and intelligence unit of militants near the village of Starohnativka,’ the press center reported.
At the same time, in Maryinka, unknown persons opened fire on duty shift staff at a checkpoint.
‘One attacker was killed and another was wounded with return fire,’ the press center reporred.
According to the press center, ATO forces also recorded clashes between different militant groups.
