Militants are not complying with the ceasefire agreement that took effect in eastern Ukraine on Feb. 15, the anti-terrorist operation press center reports.

“Based on the analysis of the first day of truce, we can say that the illegal armed units are not complying with the agreements. The enemy has used rocket launchers 31 times, tanks four times and artillery and mortars 56 times since the moment the truce was declared,” says a report posted on the press center’s Facebook page on Feb. 16 morning.

“In all, the enemy carried out 112 attacks on anti-terrorist operation forces over the past day. Our servicemen only returned fire,” the press center continued.

The number of attacks on army positions has increased in the Debaltseve sector, it noted. “In the past 24 hours, the militants attacked Debaltseve 88 times and populated localities nearby; they were using practically every type of weapons. Debaltseve was damaged most, as it came under 19 Grad rocket launcher attacks. Chornukhyne was attacked thrice and four times shelled by Grad rocket launchers. The illegal armed units put Popasna, Sanzharivka, Zolote and Kamyanka under grad and artillery fire,” the ATO press center said.

At the same time, the intensity of bombardments of army positions has lessened in Luhansk and Donetsk sectors. Militants were using light weapons and grenade launchers. “Toshkivka, Opytne and Novotoshkivske were attacked by mortars,” the report said. According to Kyiv, militants’ tanks twice shelled Shyrokyne in Volnovakha district in Mariupol sector.

Besides, the press center reported the activity of militants’ drones along the line of contact near Debaltseve and Donetsk./
