You're reading: Moscow wants to place Dnipropetrovsk governor on international wanted list

The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has sent documents to Interpol to place current Dnipropetrovsk region governor Ihor Kolomoisky on the international wanted list, Russian Prosecutor General Yury Chaika told reporters on Aug.1.

“We have sent to Interpol the request to place Kolomoisky on the
international wanted list and a confirmation of the intention to demand
his arrest and extradition in case he is located in another state,”
Chaika told reported at Seliger.

A criminal case has been opened in Russia regarding Ukrainian
businessmen Kolomoisky, who was appointed by new Ukrainian authorities
as head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration. Kolomoisky has
been repeatedly accused in media reports of creating armed formation
participating in the army operation in southeastern Ukraine.
