Strasbourg - The head of Russia's delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Alexei Pushkov, has said that Russia is withdrawing its invitation to a PACE delegation to visit Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko, in custody in Moscow over the killing of two Russian journalists in eastern Ukraine.

“PACE’s decision to suspend the Russian delegation’s voting rights and its right to sit on the governing bodies of the assembly cancels Russia’s invitation for PACE members to visit Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko, who has been accused of complicity in murder and is being held at a Russian pre-trial detention center,” Pushkov told reporters in Strasbourg.
