You're reading: Parliament left unsettled state registration of merged land plots in Ukraine

The Ukrainian parliament did not support at first reading a draft law on the state registration of ownership rights to merged and divided land plots.

Draft law No. 2198 of Feb. 5, 2013 was supported only by 195 out of 275 lawmakers registered in the session hall.

According to the explanatory note for the document, the bill proposes
introducing a requirement on the state registration of ownership rights
to the said land plots with the issue of certificates.

Exceptions are cases of the registration of land plots in the state
land cadastre on the basis of a certificate of ownership rights to
property when the land plots were divided or merged under an agreement
or under a court ruling.

The chief scientific and expert department of the Ukrainian
parliament recommended returning the bill to the author for revision by
first reading, while the parliamentary committee for the economic policy
recommended passing the bill.

The author of the bill is MP Denys Omelianovych (Party of Regions).
