The new methods of so-called "hybrid warfare" have shown that Ukraine's defense sector requires comprehensive reform, in which NATO is ready to help, the leader of the Ukrainian security council has said.

Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council Secretary Andriy
Parubiy said this after a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine joint working
group on defense reform that took place in Brussels on Monday at NATO
headquarters.

“Unfortunately, the new methods of war that Russia is using against
us, the so-called ‘hybrid warfare’, in which subversive groups and
criminals are used, and an information war is conducted, show the need
for reformatting and reforming our defense sector. Today, we have talked
about this with our partners in NATO and discussed the issue of
providing experts to conduct an inspection of the security sector and
implementing these reforms,” he said.

According to Parubiy, Ukrainians feel great moral support from its NATO partners.

“The atmosphere is such that everyone understands that if they do not
stop Putin in Ukraine, no one knows where his tanks will be tomorrow.
Everybody understands that this crisis is not between Ukraine and
Russia, it is a global civilization crisis, which we have to solve
together to stop Putin,” the NSDC secretary said.
