on social media

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with mothers and women of the military, who were held captive by militants in Gorlivka. During a successful operation 17 hostages were released, and today arrived to Kyiv.

Telling the women happy news, the President said: «We are struggling to ensure that all Ukrainians who are held captive by bandits and terrorists are released. Despite the fact that these fiends are practicing inhuman tortures against our men, our soldiers have a very strong spirit and stand these tests with honour».

The President informed that the operation of the liberation of the hostages was on his personal control and was marked as «secret», as any extra information could have affected the release of prisoners. That’s why the wives and mothers were reported about the fate of their loved ones only after the final completion of all actions to liberate the Ukrainian military. «I promised you to work on this 24 hours a day. And despite the fact that we are having a very difficult situation now, life and health of every Ukrainian citizen is a priority for me”, said Head of State.
