Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that he reached an agreement with certain international partners on a supply of new reconnaissance equipment to Ukraine.

‘[We] need to master the skills of modern warfare. We only started receiving some types of cutting-edge, high precision weapons. This morning I held the negotiations with the leaders of two extremely important for us partners, who confirmed the supplies of new reconnaissance equipment that will considerably increase the efficiency of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,’ the head of state said during his speech in the parliament’s session hall on Oct. 14.

According to him, Ukraine ‘can’t even dream’ of some types of high precision weapons.

‘This will be the task for a new defense minister – to establish an efficient cooperation, to demonstrate our army’s efficiency that will allow us to lay claim on [high precision weapons],’ the president said when presenting new candidate for the position of Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak.

Poroshenko noted that he expected the new defense minister to create a powerful defense system in Ukraine, reform army’s logistics system, using positive experience of the National Guard of Ukraine.

‘The issues of international cooperation, including military-technical and military cooperation with our partners – NATO and EU states, Canada and other countries, are on a completely different level today,’ he said.

The president also noted the importance of establishing an efficient cooperation with volunteers to provide the army with all the necessary things.
