Acting chief of the Main Department for Personnel Policy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Rozmaznin said that explosion at the building of Luhansk Regional State Administration on Monday was caused by the bombarding by the unmanned aerial vehicle from the building of the regional office of Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), which is used by the militants.

“Today’s incident with bombing from the unmanned aerial vehicle into the building of the regional state administration demonstrates that not everybody can operate it,” he said in a program aired by television station ICTV on Monday.

Being asked by the host that information that the militants arranged the explosion, has been already denied, Rozmaznin said: “No, they launched unmanned aerial vehicle from the roof of the premises of the Security Service of Ukraine in Luhansk region, and this rocket reacted on heat discharged by the air conditioner.”

As reported, at least two persons were killed in an explosion at Luhansk Regional State Administration, director of the healthcare department of Luhansk Regional State Administration Pavlo Malysh told Interfax-Ukraine.

“The number of injured is being specified now: two were killed for sure” he said on Monday.

He said that over 10 wounded persons had already been brought to the hospital and that the ambulances were still coming.

Previously several Ukrainian media, referring to eyewitnesses of the aforementioned accident, reported that illegal armed formations attempted to shoot down an unmanned aerial vehicle of the Ukrainian air force, but instead hit the window of the building.

A spokesman for the self-proclaimed ‘Luhansk People’s Republic’ said that the Ukrainian air force dropped a cluster bomb into the building of Luhansk Regional State Administration. According to him, five civilians were killed and several militants seriously injured.

The explosion at Luhansk Regional State Administration building occurred inside the building, there was no bombing from the outside or from aircraft, Radio Svoboda reported, referring to a spokesman of the special army operation Oleksiy Dmytrashkovsky.
