Moscow – The deadly air strike on the Luhansk regional state administration building, in which civilians were killed, is a flagrant violation of the Geneva agreements and of the roadmap, proposed by Switzerland as the country holding the rotating presidency of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its Web site.

“Kyiv has again crudely violated the negotiated agreements, laid down in the Geneva statement of April 17 and detailed in the roadmap proposed by Switzerland as the country holding the presidency of the OSCE,” it said in connection with the air strike on Luhansk.

What has happened indicates that Kyiv doesn’t want to look for ways to restore national accord, it said.

“We would like to note that the Ukrainian law enforcement services’ escalated operations coincide with U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense Derek Chollet’s visit to Kyiv. We again urge our Western partners to make full use of their influence on Kyiv in order to stop Ukraine’s rolling down into a national catastrophe,” the statement said.
