You're reading: Russian humanitarian cargo not processed by Ukrainian customs yet

As of 11:00 on Aug. 18, due to lack of safety guarantees for the Russian convoy with humanitarian aid moving, the cargo has not been processed under the border and customs procedures, the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council said.

“Detailed inspection of the contents of the Russian humanitarian convoy has not started. Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) experts plan to examine the cargo on Aug. 18 or Aug. 19,” National Security and Defense Council information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Aug. 18.

According to Lysenko, OSCE representative Paul Picard said that the OSCE would probably examine the Russian humanitarian convoy on Aug. 18-19.

“The batches have been determined – up to 30 vehicles. After the cargo is examined, it will be handed over for further escort to official representatives of the Red Cross,” Lysenko said.
