SBU opens criminal proceedings over Malaysian plane crash as terrorist attack

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has opened criminal proceedings under Article 258 of the Criminal Code (terrorist attack) due to the crash of a Malaysian aircraft in Donetsk region on July 17.

“Criminal proceedings have been opened under the article ‘terrorist attack,'” the SBU press center told Interfax-Ukraine.

As reported, a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 carrying 298 people from
Amsterdam (the Netherlands) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) crashed in
eastern Ukraine on Thursday, July 17.
