Simferopol - Over half of Crimean residents have been issued Russian passports, Crimean First Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Temirgaliev said. 

“We have crossed the 50% threshold. Over half of Crimean residents hold Russian passports,” Temirgaliev said at a Crimean State Council meeting in Simferopol on Wednesday.

About 900,000 Crimean residents have applied for Russian passports, and the Federal Migration Service has issued passports to 750,000 persons, he added.
