A Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian armed forces and involved in a military operation in eastern Ukraine has been shot down, Vladyslav Selezniov, the head of the anti-terrorist operation's information service, told Interfax-Ukraine on June 24 evening.

He said he was unaware about details of the incident and whether it caused any casualties.

Meanwhile, Dmytro Tymchuk, the head of the Informational Resistance
group based in Kyiv, said nine people were killed in a Mi-8 helicopter
crash near Slovyansk.

“A Mi-8 helicopter of the antiterrorist operation forces has been
shot down near Sloviansk. Terrorists shot the helicopter down using
MANPADS. Preliminary findings indicate that nine servicemen, including
three crewmembers, have been killed,” Tymchuk said on Facebook.
