Ukrainian State Emergency Situations Service rescuers and volunteers evacuated 753 people, including 81 children and three people who could not move on their own, from a number of populated areas in the Donetsk region through a green corridor on Feb. 6, the service said in a report.

In particular, the people were evacuated from Debaltseve, Novohryhorivka, Kommuna, Krasny Pakhar (Artemivsk district), Myronivske, and Avdiyivka, the service said. To accomplish the operation, 25 buses, 2 KrAZ armored vehicles, and two ambulances were engaged.

The people have been delivered to transit points set up at the Sloviansk and Kostiantynivka railway stations. The state railway transport administration (Ukrzaliznytsia) has allocated special trains to deliver some of these people to Kyiv for free; the first train will come to Kyiv this night and another in the first half of Saturday. “After they decide on their further destination, the people will be delivered to other regions of Ukraine, where they will be provided with temporary housing and assistance in resolving their social welfare issues,” it said.

“As many as 3,876 people, including 794 children and 78 people incapable of moving on their own, were evacuated from Avdiyivka, Debaltseve and the nearby populated areas between Jan. 28 and Feb. 6,” the service said.

A team from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Special Monitoring Mission (OSCE SMM) monitored the evacuation of civilians from Debaltseve to Donetsk and Kramatorsk, it said.
