The situation in Mariupol, Donetsk region, is currently stable, says Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council spokesman Andriy Lysenko.

‘The situation in Mariupol is stable and controllable now,’ Lysenko said, adding that the Ukrainian armed forces had managed to throw the enemy back toward Novoazovsk on Friday, killing several dozen militiamen and destroying four tanks and three armored fighting vehicles.

There have been no attempts to attack Mariupol since the ceasefire was reached, Lysenko said.

Ukrainian government forces also prevented an attempt to assault Debaltseve on Friday.

‘It’s true that there was shellfire near Debaltseve. It was not systematic, and our servicemen did not sustain losses,’ he said.
