Rostov-on-Don - It is currently not known when the Ukrainian troops who entered Russia in the early hours of Monday, Aug. 4 will return to Ukraine, Vasily Malayev, an official with the Russian Federal Security Service's Border Guard Department for the Rostov region, told Interfax on Wednesday, Aug. 6.

“The Ukrainian troops are currently not going to leave the territory
of Russia. There are currently no exact dates and times when it will
happen,” Malayev said.

Malayev said the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border in the
Rostov region is now calm and no intensive fighting is going on on the
border.

A total of 438 Ukrainian troops asked officials from the Russian
Federal Security Service’s Border Guard Department to give them refuge
in the early hours of Aug. 4. The Ukrainian troops crossed the Russian
border through a special humanitarian corridor and were accommodated in
a temporary camp for refugees.

A total of 195 of the 438 troops left for Ukraine later on Monday, Aug. 4.

A total of 243 guests from Ukraine are currently in the field camp,
which was made especially for the Ukrainian troops who have entered the
Russian territory.
