You're reading: UNDP allocates 1 million hryvnias in grants for seven projects to help internally displaced persons in Ukraine

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has provided Hr 1 million in grants to five non-governmental organizations in Ukraine to assist internally displaced persons (IDPs). 

Deputy Resident Representative at UNDP Ukraine Inita Paulovica said during a ceremony to sign grant agreements in Kyiv on Friday that UNDP regarded the problems of IDPs with the utmost seriousness.

She also said that UNDP had revised its plans and crisis response and launched a few new programs that will help people who are in a difficult situation and will contribute to rebuilding towns and villages affected during the conflict. She said that UNDP would allocate funds for seven projects.

According to UNHCR, there were over 430,000 internally displaced persons in Ukraine as of Oct. 24.
