Weapons and ammunition intended for illegal armed groups operating in eastern Ukraine was sent from Russia to Donetsk and Luhansk regions on Wednesday, Aug. 6 the information and analytical center of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has reported.

“Russia continues to supply weapons and mercenaries to eastern
Ukraine. The transfer of military equipment from Russia across the Mius
River near the village of Krasna Zoria in Donetsk region was recorded
yesterday,” reads the report.

“Nine tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles, four armored personnel
carriers and two Urals were sent from Russia to Ukraine near the
village of Provallia in Luhansk region, and one more convoy of military
hardware, weapons and ammunition was moving from Donetsk, Rostov region,
in Krasnodon district. The convoy included APCs and trucks, the number
of which is being determined,” the council added.
