KYIV, Feb. 13 (AP) - Top law enforcement officials from Ukraine, Russia, Moldova and Belarus agreed Thursday to create a shared data bank to bolster their fight against terrorism.

Interior Ministers and regional law enforcement officials from the four
former Soviet countries decided to set up the joint information system to
better coordinate cross-border tracking and inter-governmental operations
against terrorism, drug trafficking, and illegal immigration, the Interfax
news service reported.

The United States and many European countries have pressed governments in
the region to integrate and upgrade border and export controls to fight
terrorism and prevent leakages of key military technologies.
