TBILISI - An affirmative decision will be made on liberalization of the visa regime between Georgia and the European Union, and the only question is when this will happen, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said during his visit to Tbilisi.

“I know that Georgia has big expectations for liberalization of the visa regime with the European Union. Let me be clear: it has been a long process and we appreciate the huge progress made by Georgia. Whether or not the visa regime will be liberalized is not the question; the question is when this happens,” Steinmeier said at a joint press briefing with Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze on Friday.

Georgia and Germany have very close relations at the top political level,” the German minister said in his comments on bilateral relations.
