You're reading: Three more die of swine flu in Georgia

Tbilisi, March 4 (Interfax) - Three people, including a pregnant woman, have died of H1N1 swine flu in Georgia in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of people killed by the virus in the country recently to 32, a spokesman for the National Disease Control center said.

The last three patients died because they decided to seek medical assistance too late, after they had already developed serious complications provoked by swine flu, he said.

The results of laboratory tests have confirmed that 567 people are currently suffering from swine flu in Georgia.

However, Georgian doctors have said that this figure includes only those who sought medical aid.

They said they did not rule out that the actual number of people who had this type of flu could be much higher.

The Georgian Health Ministry has repeatedly called on citizens to seek professional medical assistance instead of treating themselves at home.
