“[Tymoshenko will have recovered from the hunger strike] by the end of the week,” he told Interfax-Ukraine.

He said the doctors were simultaneously treating Tymoshenko’s main illness.

“Everything is proceeding in line with the recommendations of [Tymoshenko’s] German doctors,” Afanasiev said.

As reported, on October 29, Tymoshenko went on a hunger strike in protest against electoral fraud.

After the talks held with doctors from the Charite Clinic on Thursday, November 15, Tymoshenko decided to end her hunger strike. The ex-premier also resumed medical procedures.

“At the moment, the medical procedures are starting, but their number will be very limited, as she is too weak to undergo the procedures in full. And it will be difficult for her body to undergo medication. We will monitor the process and increase the doses of medication and the number of procedures as soon as she gets better,” Charite Clinic doctor Lutz Harms said.
