You're reading: Penitentiary service: Tymoshenko vows to resist to attempts to take her to courtroom on July 31

Former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko has written a statement in which she refuses to take part in a court hearing of her case scheduled for July 31, according the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine.

Tymoshenko also said in the statement that if the court orders that
she be taken to the courtroom, she will offer physical resistance to
this.

“This will be done with my physical resistance,” the penitentiary service cited the ex-premier as saying.

The penitentiary service also informed that its management has not
received a court ruling on taking Tymoshenko to the courtroom.
