Representatives of the Ukrainian opposition have presented President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski with a T-shirts with the inscription "Freedom to Yulia."

“President Komorowski, who knows that Yulia Volodymyrivna (Ukraine’s
jailed former premier Yulia Tymoshenko) will watch the final match
today, has asked to convey her greetings, which we will do. And I
presented President Komorowski with two shirts with the call to free
Yulia inscribed on them. I asked him to give the second shirt to
[Ukrainian] President [Viktor] Yanukovych,” Deputy Head of Batkivschyna
All-Ukrainian Union told reporters after a meeting of Ukrainian
opposition figures with Komorowski in Kyiv on July 1.

The meeting shows that the European Union supports democracy in
Ukraine and supports the opposition, said Front for Change Party leader
Arseniy Yatseniuk, who heads the United Opposition Council.

“It is important that our European partners maintain a dialogue not
only with incumbent President Yanukovych but also those representing
democratic forces in Ukraine and the opposition,” Yatseniuk said.

The meeting with Komorowski focused on the transparency of the
forthcoming parliamentary elections, Ukraine’s European choice and
political persecutions in Ukraine, he said.

Borys Tarasiuk, leader of the People’s Movement of Ukraine, who also
attended the meeting, said: “We asked President Komorowski to point out
at his meeting with the Ukrainian president that everything possible
must be done to avoid rigging and to ensure honest and democratic
elections.”

The meeting attendees also raised the issue of the future of the EU
Association Agreement with Ukraine and the subject of a possible EU
reaction to the results of the forthcoming parliamentary elections, he
said.

The meeting was also attended by Civil Position leader Anatoliy
Hrytsenko and UDAR Party leader Vitaliy Klychko, an Interfax
correspondent said.
