You're reading: Witness claims Tymoshenko paid $3 m for killing MP Scherban

Investigative Judge Viktor Kytsiuk of the Pechersky District Court in Kyiv has completed the questioning of Serhiy Zaitsev, the second witness in a criminal case dealing with the murder of Verkhovna Rada deputy Yevhen Scherban in 1996. 

The questioning lasted over two hours in the absence of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

Zaitsev claimed that Tymoshenko had paid $3 million for Scherban’s murder, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported from the courtroom.
