The air temperatures might be swinging, but one’s mood needn't be, thanks to these events taking place in Kyiv this week.

Aviation Festival

Ukraine Avia Fest is the largest Ukrainian aviation festival. Over 110,000 people have visited it since its launch in 2013. This year, with 33 airplanes and helicopters flying in especially for this event, 72 of the most famous planes in the world are on display (the oldest one being 89 years old and the newest just two years old), including the AN-178 transport aircraft, which has just returned from the U.K. and will be displayed in Ukraine for the first time. This is truly not a show to miss.

Gogolfest

Gogolfest is an annual multidisciplinary festival of art, literature, music, cinema and theater that was founded in 2007 and has been rapidly growing ever since. This year it is themed around the Biblical story of the city of Babylon, to symbolize the disunity and misunderstandings in our society. The Erised, ALLOISE, Boombox, SunSay and many others will perform on the festival’s music stage.

Kurazh Bazar Night Market

The Kurazh Bazar charitable flea market takes place every month, but this time it is bigger and more exciting than ever, because it is running simultaneously with Gogolfest and its hours are being extended until midnight on Friday and Saturday, and until 9 p.m. on Sunday. Sellers of new and pre-owned stuff, vintage items, young Ukrainian brands and many others will come together this weekend to create an unforgettable experience for locals and visitors of Kyiv.

Medieval tournament

The Kyivan Rus Park invites everybody to a grandiose festival of historical reconstruction – the Call of Heroes international championship. This year the festival will have 21 hours of spectacular battles fought by over 400 participants from 10 countries. The participants will be equipped with the same armor as the medieval knights: swords, shields, battle-axes, spears and falchions.

First Ukrainian Cupcake Festival

Prepare your taste buds! G13 Art Space invites you to the sweetest event of this week: the first Ukrainian Cupcake Festival. The festival will include not only a hand-made confectionery goods exhibition, children’s games and workshops on gingerbread decoration, but also fun competitions, food courts and DJ sets. A truly irresistible event for those with a sweet tooth.

Neformat Fest

This year Neformat Fest, the annual music festival that brings together Ukrainian musicians and bands of punk, punk rock, emo, indie and hardcore genres, is hosted by MonteRay Club’s live stage. Neformat Fest proudly offers its stage to Ukrainian artists only, which means that new Ukrainian performers get a chance to be discovered by wider audiences.

Kyiv Flower Market

At this colorful event flower lovers will be able to buy flower compositions, flower pots, home decorations and other art items. DJ sets, street musician performances, sports activities, workshops and food courts will also be there for everybody’s entertainment.
