Contemporary art exhibition and market in D12 gallery

Art Hall
D12 presents the biggest exhibition of contemporary art in Kyiv. Several
thousands of modern paintings and artworks are found on the gallery’s three
floors with a total area of 3,500 square meters.

More than
20 modern art galleries from Ukraine, France, Georgia, Belarus, Lithuania, and
Armenia sent their artworks for the exhibition in D12. Some of the most
interesting exhibits are works of Koka Ramishvili from Tbilisi’s Gala Gallery,
portraits by Oleh Tymchenko from Georgian Gamrekeli Gallery and sculptures of
Sasha Kutovoy from Vovatanya art gallery in Kharkiv.

The
artworks are offered for sale. An average price is several thousand dollars.

Two art shows in Khanenko Museum

Bogdan and Varvara Khanenko Museum of Art offers two
exhibitions that are a must-see for an art lover: “Art and Science” and “Rescued
Treasures of Italy.”
The featured works have never been exhibited
in Ukraine before. Besides, intriguing art detective stories stay behind each
art exhibition in Khanenko museum.

‘Art and Science’ in
Khanenko Museum

This is the
art exhibition for the fans of detective stories, investigations and unexpected
discoveries. It shows the museum’s backstage and reveals who the museum workers
spend months shoveling archival documents and rare editions to find out what
unknown treasures are still stored in the museum’s depository (while the museum
owns some 17,000 artworks, only 2,000 of them are exhibited). The exhibition
shows 18 artworks that were identified through this painstaking work. The
whole research process is depicted in the infographics.

‘Rescued Treasures of
Italy’ in Khanenko museum

A small but
unique exhibition has already caused a stir among Kyivans, who wait in line for
two hours to see the masterpieces of Italian Renaissance. The exhibition
features 17 artworks of Pisanello, Tintoretto, Andrea Mantegna and others.
Peter Paul Rubens’ “Dama delle Licnidi” and Jacopo Bellini’s “
Saint
Jerome Penitent”
are the highlights of the exhibition.

The paintings
were stolen in 2015 from the municipal museum Castelvecchio in Italy’s Verona.
In early May Ukrainian customs officers discovered the paintings when the
smugglers tried to move them from Ukraine to Moldova. The exhibition runs till
June 22, and the museum works without days off till then.

‘Silver Age Gardens’ art exhibition

The
exhibition is dedicated to the 160
th anniversary of the birth of
Mikhail Vrubel, Russian symbolist and Art Nouveau painter. Vrubel’s life is
closely linked to Kyiv. He painted murals on the walls of Kyiv’s St. Cyril’s
Church. The exhibition presents Vrubel’s works “A Portrait of a Man in an Old Suit,”“A
Portrait of a Girl Against a Persian Carpet,” “Resurrection” and others.
Besides Vrubel, art lovers will also have a chance to enjoy the works of
Zinaida Serebriakova, Alexandre Benois, Konstantin Korovin and other Russian
artists of
