‘Dream World’ by Lidia Tremmery

The “Dream World” exhibition is dedicated to the late Lidia Tremmery, a Ukrainian artist of Belgian descent. Tremmery was born in Belgium to a Ukrainian mother and a French father who had met in a German concentration camp. In 1965 she moved to Kyiv to study in the Kyiv Art Institute. However, as an immigrant artist she was quite unwelcome in the local art scene and couldn’t display her works. As a result she worked together with her husband, an art critic, who printed her lithographs. The creative duo produced 27 lithographs, some of which along with a number of pastels will be displayed at the Barva gallery.
